As I've often mentioned, Bank of America has caught 27 of the last 0 fraudulent attempts to use my card from Japan (despite multiple notes on the account and the primary address being in Japan), so that might actually help me quite a bit.

Many banks use a "call us before you travel" (which has migrated to web apps because calls are $$$) model for this, since bouncing someone's CC at their hotel is a terrible user experience, and sometimes people really do have to buy a Macbook when traveling.

A friend of mine from Russia was shocked at the fact tha I can’t get an sms every time my card is charged. Apparently this service costs like 50 cents a month in Russia.
