Probably the typical reason; every large consumer-facing brand should have a credit card. The economics are Very Compelling (TM).

I probably won't get the card but US CC companies don't have a problem with me most of the time; I have a credit history and address.

I meant to communicate "The card which is your next best option", which for me is either probably Chase Sapphire or SPG Amex.
