The Google Authenticator app on phone is a great way to get one-time passwords (far better than SMS) but I really want a one-tap experience.

Blizzard’s TOTP iOS app uses interactive notifications. You just tap “approve” from the lock screen or your Apple Watch. It’s great.

The Blizzard UX is exactly what I want; it would be awesome if my retirement accounts were as securely usable as Starcraft 2 is. (Serious.)

Authy accomplishes this exact thing but I think the sites have to know you're using Authy as your code generator. More do it than I expected

I vote switch to Authy if you're using Google Authenticator. It works on any seed that's built for G Auth, does online backups... etc

Storing the OTP in 1Password is close to this. It automatically copies it into the clipboard after signing in with the regular credentials.

+1. I was hesitant to set this up bc technically less secure, but glad I did.

YubiKey perhaps? A tiny device inside the laptop you just tap instead of providing OTP code.

Apple does this well. Login to iCloud? Your phone buzzes, shows map of login point, asks Allow, gives 1-time code.
