    Spanish is so much harder for me than Japanese ever was. Subjunctive case, verb conjugation, and remembering accenting rules wreck me.

        (And yeah ~15 years of daily practice with the 3rd language pretty comprehensively obliterated memory of practice of the 2nd language.)

        immersion helps. Growing up around Spanish aided my progress. Languages I've learned since no substitute for hearing rules in context.
