I think more likely to "join the family business" in the sense of joining an author or acting family; foundation for creating own IP.

I also think that most folks in our circles who run one logical business w/ continuity of control/ownership probably will not have one app.

A software business conducted on the scale of years creates many assets. Some dry up, some are sold, some get reinvestment, etc.

Similar to a family which runs properties; it's unlikely they still actually own first property 50 years down the line.

They bought it because it was down the block, cheap, and on the market "right now", and none of those are constraints any longer for them.
