My mother, who cannot read or speak Japanese, writes letters in it to my mother-in-law, who cannot read English. You'll enjoy her workflow:

Did I mention she freehand copies Japanese? Without being able to read it? That's like writing Ruby by specifying UTF-8 in hex, from memory.
