Used to be $30k in Japan, too. There are actual meaningful process advantages to operating in certain economies.https://twitter.com/imcatnoone/status/773684585439891456 …

It’s pretty wild how different it is to kickstart an 🇺🇸 Inc. versus a 🇩🇪 Gmbh. Initial buy-in for a Gmbh from founders is $25,000.

In many countries, bringing on first junior engineer at $4k a month is minimally a $100k bet-the-company commitment if it doesn't work out.

If you make the ill-advised choice to hire someone as full employee in Japan and need to fire them you essentially will need to beg to do so

"Well did you retrain them in a different job?" "But we only have the one job." "My assessment is management failure. Permission denied."
