Kinda feel like my CS degree is equivalent to 3~6 months of professional experience with Rails plus a writing class and 2 hours on Big O.

Well, OK, in 3~6 months with Rails you'll have interacted with a database and probably also done Javascript, so you'd be ahead of my degree.

my CompSci course was denominated by AI/NLP/Graphics/Speech recognition — far more interesting!
