If I ever do a development talk, it will be about Rails as the hub of a hub-and-spoke application where substantial complexity in spokes.

My apps don't typically blow up because I reversed a sign somewhere and my business logic was wrong (easily caught by unit testing).

When they blow up it's often due to browntime at a provider, previously undefined behavior breaking against our understanding, DevOps, etc.

I'd add circuit breakers, eg if warning of some sort triggered 3 times without fixing itself, feature toggle off & SMS a human.
