I do not like trivia-heavy interview techniques because they test for shared experience which exposed one to the trivia.

That's conceptually _a lot_ trickier than Hanoi, but has less shibboleth value, precisely because it actually comes up in any year of work.

@patio11 pattern matching to defensible solution (ala Skiena's Algorithm Design Manual) signals more than a correct implementation.
