I do not like trivia-heavy interview techniques because they test for shared experience which exposed one to the trivia.

"Reverse a tree" / "Implement Towers of Hanoi" / etc are all examples of this; almost explicitly tests "How recent was undergrad for you?"

Note how rarely these trivia questions ask about things that undergrad programs don't teach well like e.g. SQL.
