I did my own taxes for years, and I'm pretty good at them, and my CPA still pays for himself directly in decreased tax burden.

@patio11 The main takeaways from this seem to be "gross revenue != profit" and "don't forget to claim expenses". Which should be obvious...? -
@cperciva Everything looks obvious when you've done it for ten years, but they don't take you aside in college to say WSJ=clear biz expense.
