Coffee dates are a portfolio strategy. Nobody expects 100% of them to turn into even an offer of job/gig/sale/etc. (That's why they work.)

If you are in consulting/hiring/etc you just commit yourself to a coffee budget (more time than money -- seriously it's coffee) and measure.

If you are not hitting funnel volume goals that's generally a sign "Need more coffee" or, more rarely, "Poor qualification of coffee dates."
