Consultants: you want an acceptance period in your MSA. Clients get ~2 weeks to object in writing to your work. If they don't, it's theirs.

Some younger, less experienced consultants think "Wait, don't I *owe* it to the client to fix the system 6 months from now?", but you don't.

Believe me, no client anywhere believes they owe it to you to send over an additional check 6 months down the line if your work outperforms!

@patio11 Can you elaborate on why the acceptance period allows this? You mean they pay for fixing bugs they identify in <= 2w? -
@timcheadle No -- if the work isn't accepted, you fix the issues preventing that. After acceptance, if it breaks (or evolves), work = $$$. - 1 more reply
