(That is, by my rough estimate, a ~200X increase in volume-per-period, and would strain any ops team I'm aware of without months of advance planning/notice.)

Have heard anecdotal reports of similar manual 24-hour shift approaches at other banks too — plus the need to hire contractors to actually work those shifts

My previous employer experienced this at a smaller scale. Initially tried to hire more grunts to meet increased data entry needs. Found they couldn't retain said employees because of overwork. Ended up having to invest in better tech systems anyway.
