Perhaps a generalized version of that insight is that the prodigious amount of time spent in e.g. CS classes language documentation on "If car subclasses vehicle and overrides a method then..." is basically waste since, if any dev in future would need time to think on it, don't.

Rails has so many clever things about it. This reminds me of when I started doing web development with React after sticking to Rails forever, I was stuck wondering, “Where am I supposed to put all these things? Can’t you do it?” Convention over configuration is powerful.

Understanding and manipulating scope seems to be really underemphasized in programming education and practise, even though it's the raison d'etre for a huge number of syntax and dependency management features.
