Are there good ways of assessing the first question (i.e. some overlooked LinkedIn or Glassdoor question)? My go-to today is look at relevant job positing for that title at that company, and look at prior experience for people in those roles on LinkedIn — but not very scalable

Best way is some mix of industry knowledge and having contacts that can share informal insights. e.g. People in banking know VP is not 'special' but people in tech know VP at Apple is pretty exclusive.

Don't forget "what is the business model of this organization?"
