Child of a friend had played a lot with iPad and Google Maps and Earth at a very young age. Once they were visiting I gave the kid a paper map, and she instantly understood it was the same thing she had seen on a screen.

I don’t think we give children enough credit for rediscovery of, to them, novel concepts. It’s pretty remarkable, but because adults have prior understanding/exposure, it goes relatively unnoticed

I get good results by treating children like tiny adults on acid (turns out their brains are bathed in serotonin). They can understand so much more than we give them credit for.
