After spending a year helping hundreds of founders become better at doing sales, I've noticed some interesting patterns. For example, I can now pretty reliably predict if a new founder will be successful (or not) based on the sources of business advice they quote.

Obviously can't share sources that correspond with a lack of success. And correlation != causation. But - in my experience - founders who quote the following people are *much* more likely to see significant progress... -

Not an exclusive list by any means. And I have a small (and biased) sample size. But these names do keep coming up when I talk to founders who are growing healthy businesses quickly. So maybe worth checking out some of their stuff if you haven't already.

I’d probably add selection effects in audience, but there is probably something about the relative utility of eating more vegetables and lifting weights versus visualizing oneself as healthier.
