Someone OSSed a thing I have previously had call to do with ImageMagick, down to "introduce sufficient artifacts to a digital scan to make it look like it went through an analog process so that it looks like a 'wet signature'"https://twitter.com/arvidkahl/status/1248523267712917504 …

My bank once required an "physical original" of a certificate of incorporation. Thing was, the gov. digitized and provided only a digital certificate for the company. This led to an awkward conversation until they found the chief compliance officer who as like "fine whatever".

I recently mailed a physical piece of paper to Tokyo that said ~"I promise I am not in Japan right now, I don't know why my passport is missing the exit stamp." This was both necessary and sufficient. (Pending, you know, the border opening soon)

I signed the offer to buy the house I live in by editing in a digital copy of my signature and my wife's (with her permission). It was a tight deadline

Actual conversation with a gov agency last year: “Before I can talk to you, I need your resume.” But I’m not applying for a job, I’m reporting a security hole. “It’s policy, you have to upload your resume <here>.” <uploads photo of a clown> “Thanks, how can I help you?”
