In these times I recall frequently the call I received from the manager at a small bank branch back in March 2011, telling me that he would open the branch at 9:00 AM on Monday, as it always opened, and that businesses banking there could expect deposits taken and loans made.

I started following it when it hit Italy and it's been difficult to focus on much else. It's also been maddening to see the same "just a flu" cycle repeat itself here in the US. We were warned, but squandered the time
