        He both lives in Tokyo and is broadly recognized as an astute observer of social systems. I don't want him to be correct, but it'll take more than a well justified axe to grind with the WHO to convince most folks otherwise.

        Why isn’t the situation already like New York given that Tokyo was exposed earlier? Why does Japan have one of the lowest fatality rates in the world? I don’t know the answers to these but it seems dubious to say New York is Tokyo’s future. Not to say caution isn’t warranted...
