After seeing the thread from the Slack CEO I think I'm going to start a diary. So much is happening, so quickly, and it's overwhelming my working memory, but we're living history in real time and anything not committed to paper or electronic media (and much that is) will be lost.

I don't think it's widely appreciated yet, but: Twitter has been far more successfully at getting engagement from me than parts of my brain thought was wise for ~10 years now. I have seen more & better use in last few days than ever before, and regret every earlier regret.

Speaking of diaries: if you're not in a mental headspace to write right now, and I have been in and out of that headspace, pull out your iPhone, turn on the video camera, and say "Dear diary: here's what happened today." for ~5 minutes. Focus on what you saw/etc.

It's therapeutic, and a hundred years from now, some elementary school student asked the difference between a primary and a secondary source will say "A primary source is a document recorded in real time, like that one from 2020 we read about. The textbook is a secondary source."
