It’s an option to authoritatively say “look, I was right” in the future if the prediction pans out, while avoiding the social consequences of stating the prediction in the present.

No idea why this is receiving so many likes, but no snark is intended. Depending on the exact prediction, social consequences in the present could be a good/bad thing. I believe

Devils advocate/ You can create as many text files (with different statements in them) as you want. Then hash those and share the hashes with different tweets. Then delete the tweets with hashed that are not in line with the outcome.

True. But pretty easy to prove you did that. Can't delete wrong ones before knowing the actual outcome. By then, internet never forgets.
