Many people asking: If we slow down #COVID19 through drastic short-term measures (eg, school/business closures), doesn't it bounce back as soon as we lift those measures?
Do we have to wait a year or more for a vaccine or treatment?
I don't know. What is the best explanation?

The long game is a vaccine, a drug, and/or some other way of killing the virus, either in our bodies or in the environment. The short game is draconian, unsustainable isolation and quarantine of entire populations. What's the medium game?

One option, which I think is close to unspeakable in a democracy but which I would put money on China implementing, is aggressive ongoing surveillance of everyone’s movement with mandatory quarantine of everyone meeting a person testing positive over a rear looking window.
