This is a good take from @patio11 but interestingly I think his site (http://kalzumeus.com ) still brands itself like a "blog"
As for sites that avoid this, I think http://gwern.net and http://patrickcollison.com are very interesting
Some thoughts below

It does, look at your front page. It should basically be https://www.kalzumeus.com/greatest-hits/ but instead it's *this*: https://www.kalzumeus.com/ Ah yes, "Tether: The Story So far", that's definitely what one thinks of as patio11's best thing to read...?

A good front page for you, IMO, would be a narrative form of 'greatest hits' combined with 'thirty second self-intro', explaining your systems engineering paradigm which underlies all of your optimization work and achievements, and provoking interest. (Not stuff about dragons.)

Cobbler's children have no shoes. Thanks! I'll take a whack at it today.

Pretty much. "Man, if patio11 looked at this dude's homepage, he would be *appalled*." (I assume it just sort of built up over time while you were doing everything else...)

Any better now? Redid the front page and did some gardening on the greatest hits/etc.
