Is there any good example of a company that failed because its platform was so open it was unusable? Lots of companies had this problem—Google with spam, FB with games, dating sites with fake profiles—but are there good examples of a co dying specifically from this?

Flooz and most of the contemporary “spend money on the Internet” startups, which resulted in everyone’s favorite usual suspects spending a lot of money on the Internet all right.
