Why do even my fantasy books involve bloody wars, can't I have a book where all the wizards eat cupcakes and date each other and be happy and maybe some petty drama but that's it, nothing dark or serious

In a (possibly?) more helpful recommendation it is my impression that “slice of life” is a manga/anime genre that has the setting as a subject w/o necessarily having a conflict in traditional sense. I have no good recommendations other than Kiki’s Delivery Service.

(Kiki’s sort of has a conflict but it’s an internal one in the main character, a big story about trying to find her way in the world as a young adult and a little story which is hard to read as other than a battle with depression. Also she’s a witch and runs a small business.)
