Peanut gallery: There is no recovery path here, unless you trust me (and any government agency with jurisdiction over me) totally. All messages previously encrypted with that private key are now compromised, including e.g. the replies you made quoting people who picked right file

I think we are past the point where its ok for email to be insecure by default. Its become fundamental communication infrastructure.

Eldest Son thinks PGP shows a lack of character, he encrypts sensitive messages with a one-time-key, does all his XORs by hand. It all takes some time... but he is 11.

I see you're opting to use Signal after a manual handshake. Have you considered Keybase, which would let those who know you by your Twitter account, website, etc. bypass the handshake while still giving you the ability to block spam?
