If you’re using Stripe Corporate Card check out the new virtual card feature. It’s in the dashboard. (Instantly issue a new card not tied to a particular human, in case you want to put all the SaaS on one card, have a card just for AWS, make per-team purchasing cards, etc.)

Interesting question which I haven't though through in a lot of detail. The short version: a single BIN (think "bank" but that's inexact) can have 10e9++ valid numbers in it, which is relatively abundant, but the number of BINs is more limited and growth in demand has exploded.
