Went to bed early-ish but I can’t sleep because I’m thinking... about Game of Thrones- the final season in particular - and how I’d have done it differently. I think a few little changes could have made a big difference. Let’s do a quick sketchpic.twitter.com/xZ4hcYQYBY

Now that there’s been some space and time since the show ended, I’ve forgotten a lot of the specifics. There are 2 things I vividly remember as really badly done: 1. Rhaegal was killed randomly by the Iron Fleet - wtf 2. Dany became some sort of *actual* murderous tyrant - wtfpic.twitter.com/o5GAYb20cS

The dragons are literally weapons of mass destruction, and Dany’s children, and they should be treated with reverence by the showrunners. Viserion’s death and revival was horrible and sad - which was great storytelling!pic.twitter.com/5xFtN2MeKS

There are a couple of things to know about Dany. 1, she had suffered a lot herself in life, and *tries* to be a good ruler, *tries* to do the right thing. She might be a bit of a megalomaniac, but we root for her because she *tries*. She’s conflicted, isolated, an outsider...pic.twitter.com/4bcIl4bKP6

2. She really fucking loves her dragons.pic.twitter.com/xMN6LBizrI

So here’s what I think is the obvious thing to do: The bells are ringing. King’s Landing has surrendered. Dany *stands down*. And then some fool, maybe a glory-seeking dragon-slayer-wannabe Golden Company lieutenant - kills Rhaegal!! Then this makes sense!!!!pic.twitter.com/mKSSOoNCRd

The excessive overkill that Dany does is ridiculous. consider instead: by going on a *little* bit of a rampage, Dany + Drogon *accidentally* set off a cache of wildfire. Meaning she does a lot more damage than she intends to do, even in her moment of understandable ragepic.twitter.com/LRbLqYrCJv

Replying to @visakanv
I had some of the exact same thoughts, but I'd add a third thing missing from s8: Any cleverness on Cersei's part.

Could be as simple as “The entire capital is undergirded with wildfire. Use your dragons and you’ll burn the people.” “You’d make me queen of the ashes.” “*I* would be queen of the ashes.”
