Thoughts on the music industry: 1) New songs are fun. But old songs are profitable. 2) Concerts are exhausting. Artists will look for new ways to monetize, including merchandise and equity in startups. 3) If I was a musician, I’d create behind-the-scenes videos for every song.

Most interesting business model innovation I’ve ever heard of in music: inviting super fans to listen to a recording session, for Charge More price points, with a brief meet and greet afterwards. Relied on a custom-coded CRM with heavy SMS interaction.
