The questions I’d ask to understand the place I work: Who are your friends? Who do you do projects with? Who do you break bread with? Who do you DM? Who do you DM out of work systems? Who are your peers? Who do you look up to? Who do you “want to be when you grow up?”

This is exactly how an antropologist starts a study. Interestingly enough, other questions they ask is "what tools do you use", "who builds your tools", "who teaches you how to build/use your tools", etc. H/T
@feraldata who taught me this when I asked her for advice as a rando.
