one workaround is to nerdsnipe smart people like @patio11 or @vgr with interesting Q's, if they're in the right headspace for being distracted with something fun, everyone gets to enjoy it. being a good-faith nerdsniper is very powerful. it might be abt 30-40% of my twitter gamehttps://twitter.com/visakanv/status/1214755606940139521 …

actually this also partially explains how/why I enjoy my life so much despite not really having a lot of money – because I get to enjoy things that even people with 3-4x more money than me don't get to enjoy. This is close to the most valuable insight I possess

I literally would not be doing my job if I did not tell you that this same factor would also solve your money problem. (“Problem” in air quotes.)

yeah I'm operating with the assumption that this is true. it's already about 30%-ish "solved", I expect to solve at least 80% of it this year, and I think by next year I will be freed up to take on much more interesting and exciting problems

funnily, I was going to share my http://visakanv.com/contribute/ with you and ask for your meta-thoughts about it, but looking at it now I think I can already guess about 70-80% of what you'd say

A non-trivial portion of all value I'll ever create will be by people running simulations of me (hopefully in their head) based on voluminous evidence of past thought processes. It already happens ("patio11 would tell you to charge more") and every time it does it is *wild.*

@patio11 is there anyone you run simulations of?2 replies 0 retweets 5 likes
Several people who work with me and who I'll avoid naming for social reasons, Thomas Ptacek, Joel Spolsky, pg, Matt Levine (least confident that I'm able to simulate him), Steve Klabniak, "the first person to comment on this on HN", and several family members.
