One of my most controversial beliefs among geeks is that the industry would adapt to rampant stealing of games by reconfiguring to avoid selling games. This happened almost everywhere but on the iPhone specifically; you now rent access. Some geeks hate this, after voting for it.

A conveniently citable moment of me making this argument, 10 years ago, though I think I've been saying it since about 2000:pic.twitter.com/ypzGc0bgvn

Can you please write a blog series titled “How to think like patio11”

The optics of that worry me a little bit and I’m honestly not sure I have good introspection on exactly which part of my way of seeing the world people wish they had and what causes me to see the world that way.

I assumed most gamers grew up and stopped playing video games, because they had other uses/demands for their leisure time.

Judging by hours played, I've all but stopped playing video games. A heavy week for me is a five hour session once; can do that maybe 8 times a year. Judging by spend, I consume something on the order of 20X what I did in high school.

Video games is also the only medium that gets systematically better over time.

Politely disagree; prestige television is all but a different art form than when I was growing up. The central conceit of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is key to both its popularity and economics; that is a new bit of technology in movies created in last ~15 years.

One reason I can postulate is that Games acquired a lot of new users. The old uncle who never used to play is now hooked with
@CandyCrushSaga whereas he was already a consumer of media. Powerful mobile devices brought games to everyones life and are not difficult to start with.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
