So freaking cool, like a portal into how another decade felt. Subtle shifts in lighting can make a big difference in feel and moodpic.twitter.com/NzDIkcWfuK

I work for the Internet, at @stripe, mostly on accelerating startups. Opinions here are my own.

So hard to capture in a photograph, these are all the same lightpic.twitter.com/1R7a20hugi
This piano is next to a video of the man destroying it, with loud audio. It is strangely extremely upsetting, so much so I couldn’t stand near it long enough to take audio for you. Sometimes that’s the point though, to highlight the things we don’t expect can cause great emotionpic.twitter.com/pCgfrIVB8D
After I walked away and posted this, I was able to read through the message and realized what was really upsetting to me felt liberating and just to the artist, and that’s eye opening and interesting in itself
One of my favorite museums, which is an interesting counterpoint to this performance, is the Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts. Next to each exhibit on e.g. kimonos is an exhibit of a typical craftsman's workspace and a video showing each major step of the process for a few min.
(Which, and now two hops from pianos, reminds me of the Ghibli Museum, which has an IRL representation of an animator's workspace as depicted in animation and an IRL recreation of a typical real-life animator's workspace sitting across each other in the same room.)
