Not an accountant but I think with 99% confidence that the driver is not correct; Uber-driven miles are miles for business purposes no less than commute to a consultant's work site is driving for a business purpose.

Nah just SF. I'm able to find rentals, 3 bed 2 bath 1 acre for under $900/mo where we live and our county is the expensive one to live in. Just cross the county line and the prices drop.
