I wonder what % of hypergrowth startups could have a negative article written about the culture of the company if a reporter went fishing. Probably something like 99%. It’s probably 99% of all companies, actually. That doesn’t make it good, it just makes it unsurprising.

On the other hand: Away does seem like a train wreck of a company culture.

I don't know who that is, but feel moderately strongly that there is no culture robust enough to not allow a case for being a train wreck, and given disproof by counter example would expect "$FOO: benign do-gooders... or hiding something?"
