Not sure... Some of these have been around so long I hesitate to call them startups. BigCos provide so many places for deadwood to hang out, and as long as they show up and keep the seats warm, nobody thinks much about it. I suspect distributed, you need to keep showing value.

agreed, think startups is why the headcount is small, but also that without a small headcount distributed wouldn’t work as well reframed: distributed doesn’t lead to smaller companies, but smaller companies are an important requisite to scaling distributed companies
