A major problem with private prisons is they incentivize ongoing incarceration and recidivism, but could states incentivize private entities to *decrease* recidivism? E.g. Could you bid to “sponsor” an ex-felon, and get paid by govt as they turn their life around and thrive?

yeah the isa idea for ex cons seems interesting and aligns incentives. Would ppl object that it's even more similar to slavery though? Would have to keep ppl at their jobs I assume
