Apple's consumer confidence amongst people who've been stricken by the keyboard debacle is hurting. Maybe it's not showing up in their net-promoter scores yet, but it's there. Oh it's there. I-FUCKING-BOUGHT-A-WINDOWS-LAPTOP it's there.

I felt like I was really missing something for years after I started using Macs in 2014. My next personal computer is unlikely to be a Mac, solely because I want a built-in keyboard that works. Happy to eat N months of retraining muscle memory to get it.https://twitter.com/patio11/status/446059255154888704?s=21 …

I think 2014 was peak MacBook. I still use my 2014 every day and refuse to get a new one, mostly because, on the newer ones, my palms constantly hit the huge trackpad, I hate the USB-C only ports, and the keyboard is so crappy. And the soft f-key panel is dumb

I just keep stockpiling the 2015 era MBPs. I think I have five of them at this point?

Yeah, I need to replace the battery on my 2015 MBP to keep it going. And it's not just batteries that apple is f-ing up, it's the OS as well. They broke running my 4k display at 60 Hz and their response is, good luck, hope we fix it in a future release.

It seems Apple is planning on releasing a new 16" MacBook Pro sometime before the end of the year that has a completely new keyboard mechanism: https://www.macrumors.com/2019/10/29/16-inch-macbook-pro-could-come-today/ …. The product release seems a bit outside of the regular schedule of things for them, so maybe they're noticing.

you will also regain the ability to run "real" Excel, unlike the garbage mac version that is wholly unworthy of being signified by a Green X

I bought a 13” MBA, an iPad, 3x iPhones and TWO 15” Macbook Pro’s. Currently looking at a Surface Pro. Why? 1.) App-signing policies 2.) Unstable GPU 3.) Missing USB, MagSafe + dongles If @Apple remade the 2015 Retina Macbook with 1TB SSD & iPhone Xs chip, I’d buy it.

This is coming from someone who wrote drivers to remap the Cmd key to Windows so I could run Windows on my Macbook Air:https://gumroad.com/l/macwinkey
