For someone from Europe, the American Football / Baseball references in business world are not very intuitive. - In the ballpark - Curveball - Off base - Touch base (?!) - Game changer - Kick off I would just nod in total confusion and later google those.

If it makes you feel better I learned all of these from the Wall Street Journal, and then was very amused when I found out that actually hitting a ball in the ballpark is generally suboptimal.
