Part of me wants to screen grab for purpose of social / business commentary, part worried about them being risqué and there being social consequences, and part worries that glance time or something could teach the machine “Ahh clearly he wants more content like this.”

Just sell me financial services or something. “But you’re too sophisticated to purchase any financial service which is advertised and the marketing departments know how to intuit that at scale.” Darn it!

Part of me wishes I could just buy my attention back, but I know the reason for that is adverse selection (eyeballs are cheap but your eyeball is expensive if you would happily pay money for software), but there’s *clearly* a way for Twitter to charge me $1k+ a month.

“You’d pay $1k a month for Twitter!?!” If the long-term value of me writing on the Internet for a month doesn’t annihilate that number I’m doing something terribly wrong.

It would be a stretch to describe Twitter as Bloomberg Terminal for me but it is a lot less of a stretch than I would have predicted when I started using it.

Since you often post defences and explanations for why corporations might behave a certain way, may I suggest: for 99% of white guys who work in tech and live in Japan, dating apps are probably extremely relevant
-
Yeah. Unlikely to explicitly have “white guy” as a demographic explicitly but 30 something male, IT interests, Tokyo will already smash their demographic screen.

I’ve spent a lot of money on ads across all the major social platforms, and Twitter is by far the worst when it comes to targeting in my opinion.
-
Instagram seems to be the best from my experience being targeted. I see ads for coats, when I'm in the market. I click one, and I'll see a bunch of coat options for other brands over the next few weeks. I don't mind ads when they're relevant.

I recently got a credit suisse ad about how they can help me pass on generational wealth to my kids. I hope they know something I don’t
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
