Another way to phrase the thought is that a lot of the output is a 50 person marketing team or a 25,000 strong engineering organization is devoted to being able to keep those organizations functioning at things that are done at every 5 person team, too.

With no constraints other than money and many tools on a freemium/OSS I believe the repertoire available to small companies is actually much larger.

In terms of software implementation, I tend to agree. Where I see a difference is in accessibility, sensitivity to privacy and edge case coverage.
