@patio11 I want to pitch you an idea for @stripe Atlas which goes right to your mission of increasing the number of successful software companies on the internet.
See, I think Atlas does a great job of providing a bunch of the business infrastructure 1/9

However, that is only a fraction of what is required for a successful software company. The process of going from say `rails new` to even $10k MRR touches a lot of different problem spaces. However, I wanted to focus on the technical side here 2/9

Especially very early on in the process from a code perspective there is a lot of foundational code that is going to be more or less "the same" if you were building a SaaS business. Likewise, a marketplace business for digital goods would have its own 3/9

rough set of technical blueprints that you would then build on top of. You might need Accounts, Users, PaymentMethods, Plans etc and they all glue together in more or less the same way across businesses. So what I want to propose is this... 4/9

Imagine that alongside a
@stripe atlas account I could also reach for an open source reference SaaS code base to build my business on top of as an example that already integrated with Stripe and had a bunch of business best practices built into it 5/91 reply 0 retweets 0 likesShow this thread -
It's like the way
@patrickc would integrate the platform with new clients in the past but on steroids. I almost think of this like a conversion funnel where at the top you have a biz idea and the end of it you have an additional $ processed by Stripe 6/91 reply 0 retweets 0 likesShow this thread -
Think of how huge the drop off rate is between those two steps precisely because solo founders get caught up in knots trying to build "the perfect software" for example. This kind of project pushes people that much further along the funnel 7/9

towards developing a successful software business. I don't know if it would make sense to build it yourself or look at buying something like
@bullettrainco but that would be such a helpful thing to exist in the startup ecosystem 8/91 reply 0 retweets 0 likesShow this thread -
that directly went about Stripe's overall goal of increasing the GDP of the internet in what I anticipate would be a meaningful way. Would love to hear your thoughts. 9/9

I like the way you think :)

Replying to @patio11
I have a whole bunch of these ideas because like I said there’s so many missing bits of infrastructure missing in that space of how to get founders from 0 to a liveable wage. You guys and some of your partners are well positioned to potentially help with it.
