Manually managing payment credentials. 50% of what goes into DevOps; not entirely obvious to me which 50% it is, but the enterprise wants Heroku not AWS as experience for their developers and right now they’re scratchbuilding Heroku internally. KYC/IRL ID management everywhere.https://twitter.com/andrewchen/status/1170358577304784897 …

What are things we do now that will seem barbaric in a few years? (Tech edition) - signing up and keeping track of passwords between a million different apps. (If we still have “lost password” in 2050 then we’re doomed) - gathering closets full of old phones and gadget boxes

Curios on this one. Why do you think more enterprise companies don’t adopt Heroku then? Is it not good enough for them? The belief of better security on AWS/Azure?

Heroku scales badly for anything large-ish. And it isn't due to not wanting to throw money at it, which also can become an issue.

Every business builds and wants their own custom architecture. 🤷🏻‍♂️ DevOps is to Software Delivery as 2-Day shipping is to Amazon.

which begs the question: why isn’t Heroku better
