Why wouldn’t it be straight up- “We know you have massive capital gains. We managed them for you. We have an easement and return strategy to manage those.” The downstream, capital gains-free exit is too compelling for me to believe this is that hard for successful fund to pitch.

Pretty much yeah although more focused for investing in crypto than public companies (not that they're mutually exclusive)
