My local cafe has pads to do the register in case of a power outage, because “Power is out but coffee is on” is *very much* an anticipated mode of operation.

Helping run the incident management program for Akamai was fun. One of the constraints on it was that it needed to still work if the Internet was down.

“Internet down” - I’m sure you can’t go into a lot of detail, but I’d assume this strikes out things like phones since that’s mostly voip these days. What are some comms channels that you did use then?
