I think I believe this a lot less regarding the other constituents of AppAmaGooFaceSoft, incidentally.

Serious question with (I promise) no snark intended but isn't that what stack exchange already is?
-
That's a fair question, but the answer is "Definitely not."

Probably worth separating [search] from [every other google product] since they're always iterating on the golden goose. It's the "measly 100m per year revenue potential" products that they have trouble improving.
-
But they also have trouble making discontinuous improvements to things that directly make them billions, like Docs or Gmail.

Worse: They launch "V2" as a new product and shut down the one you're using. Looking at you, talk/allo/whatever comes next...

Nibbling at Google Maps geocoding :)
for us, it's not so much lack of v2, but their extremely restrictive terms of use + sudden price hikes -
We also nibble at their Civic Information API, come to think of it. That one is definitely plagued by a lack of v2. From what we've gathered, it's basically run by a volunteer tiger team.

At one time that seems a century ago, Google had http://google.com/linux for Linux-specialized results, as well as other specialized search engines. IIRC correctly they once thought it could be a way to diversify.

Isn't https://nerdydata.com/ what you are describing as a search for developers?
-
*takes a look* Absolutely not.
