I love walks. I loved walking around NYC. I pretty much avoid walking anywhere in SF unless @stucchio, who is more physically imposing that I, is with me.
Thread on why you shouldn't walk around SF, consistent with my own experiences:https://twitter.com/Noahpinion/status/1145117863922946048 …

Debatable. I only take it if I'm going to east bay and during off hours.

Genuine question: which parts of the city. My wife walks around the mission and Fidi a lot and hasn’t felt unsafe, but the sample size is small (Eg few months).

She walked around SoMa etc and then, because she had no way of knowing, ended up about three blocks from Twitter HQ.

Scott Galloway captured the cognitive dissonance in his recent book. The term "dystopian" put a word to a what I'd sometimes felt while there.pic.twitter.com/191PnuVLqZ

It’s cool and all that some prefer not to live in sf, but in general can we all stop shitting on the city like it’s all trash and there’s nothing nice about it. Yes a part of sf is bad, but it seams those who don’t want to live here only focus on that.

Because it’s abnormal. It warrants discourse. “Walkability” is an important criteria for a city, and SF struggles there, big time, which is extremely unusual for a city with that much wealth.
